MYC Amplification in Angiosarcoma Arising from an Arteriovenous Graft Site
نویسندگان
چکیده
Angiosarcoma arising in association with an arteriovenous graft (AVG) or fistula is a unique clinicopathologic scenario that appears to be gaining recognition in the literature. Among reported cases, none has described high-level MYC gene amplification, a genetic aberration that is increasingly unifying the various clinicopathologic subdivisions of angiosarcoma. We therefore report the MYC gene status in a case of angiosarcoma arising at an AVG site.

Evaluation of HER2, MDM2, MYC, MET and TP53 gene copy number alterations in gastric cancer patients
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is considered as one of the most common types of cancer worldwide with poor prognosis and generally limited treatment options. Recent studies have indicated that HER2, MDM2, MYC, MET, and TP53 play an important role in the development of gastric cancer. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of amplification/deletion of these genes in pati...
متن کاملEarly Onset Post-Radiation Cutaneous Angiosarcoma of the Breast with Features of Atypical-Vascular Lesion: A Diagnostic Pitfall and Its Biologic Significance
Vascular proliferations may arise in the breast following radiation treatment for a primary breast adenocarcinoma. A post-radiation vascular proliferation can usually be classified as angiosarcoma or as an atypical vascular lesion (AVL). Angiosarcomas with a “low-grade” morphology, behave aggressively but exhibit substantial histomorphologic overlap with AVLs, which have a generally benign clin...
متن کاملAngiosarcoma Developing in an Arteriovenous Fistula after Kidney Transplantation
After transplantation, the main concerns involve immunosuppression, the prevention and treatment of infections and graft rejection, and tumor prevention. Sometimes the complications that may appear in the arteriovenous fistula are neglected following kidney transplantation. This is the reason why we are presenting the case of an angiosarcoma developing in an arteriovenous fistula after kidney t...
متن کاملAngiosarcoma at dialysis fistula site in a patient on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is the best permanent access for hemodialysis. Swelling and pain due to thrombosis and infection is common at fistula site. Angiosarcoma is one of rare but important differential diagnosis of these signs. We present a patient on CAPD with angiosarcoma at AVF.
متن کاملStewart–Treves syndrome in a spinal cord injury patient with MYC amplification
A ngiosarcoma is a rare, aggressive vascular malignancy with a poor prognosis. Primary cutaneous angiosarcoma arises de novo on the head and neck of the elderly, whereas secondary angiosarcoma arises in the setting of known risk factors, including chronic lymphedema or previous irradiation. When associated with chronic lymphedema, it is eponymously referred to as StewarteTreves syndrome. The pa...
